The St. Augustine along the fence is yellow and dead where the dog goes every morning, and it is spreading into the rest of the yard. We can be there in 3–7 days, cut out the burned pads, and put in fresh grass so you are not staring at dirt every time you let them out.

This is the pattern: a dark green lawn, then a polka-dot strip of straw along the back fence, then bare soil. Nitrogen in urine burns St. Augustine in the same spots, day after day. Watering more does not fix a dead crown. Fertilizer does not fix a dead crown. You are looking at replacement, not a product from the big-box aisle.

We replace the damaged turf and check that the sprinklers actually hit the fence line. A lot of Kissimmee patches die twice because the heads never reached the edge, or the dog path is compacted so hard the new roots never grab. Patching only the yellow spots is fine when the rest of the lawn is healthy.
