Problem
After every heavy storm, the Celebration backyard held standing water for days along the fence line. The saturated strip kept killing sod, and the family could not use the yard for days at a time.
Process
- Ran a standing-water drainage test and checked grades to find the low pocket and the only viable outlet path.
- Installed a French drain with a catch basin at the low pocket, tied to a bubbler outlet at the approved discharge point.
- Regraded the low pocket so surface water reaches the basin instead of ponding.
- Repaired the trench line with fresh sod and set a short establishment watering schedule.
Result
The first major storm after installation drained within hours, with no standing water at the fence line. The trench-line sod rooted in, and the yard was usable the next day instead of sitting wet for days.
